Welcome to #FitReaders2025!! Felicia and I are excited to co-host this fitness-oriented group. If you have any questions about #FitReaders, you can leave them in the comment section or email me at twimom227(at)gmail(dot)com.

Most of our support is done via our Facebook Group. I post my weekly check-ins on Fridays, as it helps me be accountable. You are welcome to do your own check-in posts, check in below, in the comments, or check in with the Facebook group – whatever works for you!

I check in here every Friday, but my fitness week is Monday – Sunday. So my check-ins are always about a week behind.

Last Week (April 7 – April 13, 2025):

Last week was good. My daughter celebrated her 19th birthday on April 8th, and I sent her a care package so she could celebrate with her friends. I’ll see her Easter weekend and we can celebrate again then. I went to book club on Tuesday and we discussed The Briar Club, which I had recommended. I love that book! I have my normal work week and an evening meeting one day. Over the weekend, our church had a turkey dinner fundraiser, so on Friday, I cooked a turkey, then on Saturday, Terry’s siblings came over and we enjoyed the meal. Sunday I was in Boston to see the musical SHUCKED, and then we went to dinner after. The show was hilarious!

Weight: I was up 0.6 pounds for the week.

Goals: I am happy to report I’ve added in another day of walking for at least 30 minutes, plus I did a short walk one of the yoga days. Both of my yoga sessions are light, but for 30 minutes, and I’m enjoying them. I am moving and stretching, which makes me feel good. What I’m not happy about is the scale. Yes I ate a bit too much, but COME ON… it’s getting so hard to maintain my weight and I really can’t afford to go any higher. It’s just so frustrating when just five years ago, I had the same eating habits, but I was 15 pounds less.

Next week I will continue with walking 4 days for at least 30 minutes, while adding a shorter walk or workout on one of the yoga days. I’ll also keep the yoga goal to 2 days at 20 minutes and closing the fitness rings on five days.

Don’t forget to join the Facebook Group and check in with us there!

Goals for April 7 – April 13:

  • Walk 20-30 minutes, 4 days per week – 4/4 days
  • Yoga 20-30 minutes, 2 days per week – 2/2 days
  • Stretching 4 days per week (on days I walk) – 4/4 days
  • Close all three “rings” in Apple Watch, 5 days per week. – 5/5 days
  • Track food/calories 7 days per week. – 6/7 days
  • Limit alcohol intake to 2 days per week. – 2 days

During 2025 I plan:

  • To maintain or be less than my January 1st, 2024 weight. I will do with through exercise and making adjustments to my caloric intake. I don’t have to be perfect, but I do need to make a true effort.
  • To move. I will do this primarily via walking, four to seven days per week. I also need to stretch most/all of the days I exercise.
  • To remain an active member of FitReaders and support my fellow members. I will do this by actively participating in the FitReader Facebook Group and continuing to share my journey with my weekly check-in on the blog.
So are you ready to lace up your sneakers? Are you ready to up your commit to fit?
