Welcome to #FitReaders2025!! Felicia and I are excited to co-host this fitness-oriented group. If you have any questions about #FitReaders, you can leave them in the comment section or email me at twimom227(at)gmail(dot)com.

Most of our support is done via our Facebook Group. I post my weekly check-ins on Fridays, as it helps me be accountable. You are welcome to do your own check-in posts, check in below, in the comments, or check in with the Facebook group – whatever works for you!

I check in here every Friday, but my fitness week is Monday – Sunday. So my check-ins are always about a week behind.

Last Week (April 28 – May 4, 2025):

My daughter and her class performing a lyrical dance.

Last Monday, I drove home from helping my sister pack up and move. Then on Tuesday (and for the rest of the week), I was hit hard by allergies, which was probably due to all the pollen they had in Philly. I did have a massage on Thursday which helped work out some of the knots building up from the move. On Friday, I took half a day off and helped my neighbor move some of her daughter’s things home from her dorm. Saturday was my daughter’s spring dance recital, so my husband, mother-in-law, and I drove down to see her perform. It was a lovely recital, and after, we went out with friends for dinner. Sunday I got some chores done around the house, but I also just relaxed some.

Weight: I was down 1.2 pounds for the week, but I was up 2.1 pounds in April.

Goals: I continued to struggle to “care” or have the motivation to be healthy. I did finally get in a few walks later in the week, but no yoga. I continue not to record/track my caloric intake, which leads to me overeating even more than usual. I am down in weight, mostly because I’m back in a routine at home and not eating take out as much. But I’m still up over 2 pounds for the month of April.

Since I’m not doing well getting back on track, I’m modifying my goals for this coming week to try and accomplish some baby steps. Walk/move for 30 minutes (3 days), Stretch (3 days), Yoga for 15 minutes (2 days), Log food (4 days), Limit drinks (2 days).

Don’t forget to join the Facebook Group and check in with us there!

Goals for April 28 – May 4:

  • Walk 20-30 minutes, 5 days per week – 3/4 days
  • Yoga 20-30 minutes, 2 days per week – 0/2 days
  • Stretching 4 days per week (on days I walk) – 3/4 days
  • Close all three “rings” in Apple Watch, 5 days per week. – 3/5 days
  • Track food/calories 7 days per week. – 0/7 days
  • Limit alcohol intake to 2 days per week. – 2 days

During 2025 I plan:

  • To maintain or be less than my January 1st, 2024 weight. I will do with through exercise and making adjustments to my caloric intake. I don’t have to be perfect, but I do need to make a true effort.
  • To move. I will do this primarily via walking, four to seven days per week. I also need to stretch most/all of the days I exercise.
  • To remain an active member of FitReaders and support my fellow members. I will do this by actively participating in the FitReader Facebook Group and continuing to share my journey with my weekly check-in on the blog.
So are you ready to lace up your sneakers? Are you ready to up your commit to fit?
