Welcome to #FitReaders2025!! Felicia and I are excited to co-host this fitness-oriented group. If you have any questions about #FitReaders, you can leave them in the comment section or email me at twimom227(at)gmail(dot)com.

Most of our support is done via our Facebook Group. I post my weekly check-ins on Fridays, as it helps me be accountable. You are welcome to do your own check-in posts, check in below, in the comments, or check in with the Facebook group – whatever works for you!

I check in here every Friday, but my fitness week is Monday – Sunday. So my check-ins are always about a week behind.

Last Week (October 20 – October 26, 2025):

Slide from the Nursing Honor Society Induction ceremony.

Tai Chi was back on after the long weekend and I’m learning more of the form. Thursday was the memorial event for my boss, so I was at work most of the day. I got in lots of steps and flights of stairs setting up and then hosting the guests who came to remember and honor her. Friday I went for a walk with a friend. Saturday, we were up and out early, driving the three hours to my son’s college for Parents’ Weekend. We got to meet many of his friends and their parents. We went to a cookout and walked all over. We also attended a ceremony for the nursing students, including him, who were inducted in to the honor society. I am super proud of my boy! That night, my husband and I went to a bar near our hotel so I could watch the University of Michigan football game. On Sunday, we took our son out to breakfast, then hit the spirit shop so I could get a new sweatshirt. After we got back home, we watched the second half of the Patriots game with our neighbors.

Weight: I was up 0.2 pounds for the week.

Goals: Last week was a flip from the week before. This time, I got in lots of exercise, but basically tossed out good eating habits for most of the week. At least with all of the movement, I was able to keep the weight loss to a bare minimum.

Goals for next week: My goal will be to track food 7 days, exercise/move 5 days and close rings 5 days, limit alcohol to 2 days.

Don’t forget to join the Facebook Group and check in with us there!

Goals for last week:

    • Walk/Move 5 days – I moved 5 days and closed my rings 6 days.
    • Track food 4 days – 7 days.
    • Limit alcohol 2 days – 3 days.

During 2025 I plan:

  • To maintain or be less than my January 1st, 2024 weight. I will do with through exercise and making adjustments to my caloric intake. I don’t have to be perfect, but I do need to make a true effort.
  • To move. I will do this primarily via walking, four to seven days per week. I also need to stretch most/all of the days I exercise.
  • To remain an active member of FitReaders and support my fellow members. I will do this by actively participating in the FitReader Facebook Group and continuing to share my journey with my weekly check-in on the blog.
So are you ready to lace up your sneakers? Are you ready to up your commit to fit?
