Welcome to #FitReaders2026!! Felicia and I are excited to co-host this fitness-oriented group. If you have any questions about #FitReaders, you can leave them in the comment section or email me at twimom227(at)gmail(dot)com.

Most of our support is done via our Facebook Group. I post my weekly check-ins on Fridays, as it helps me be accountable. You are welcome to do your own check-in posts, check in below, in the comments, or check in with the Facebook group – whatever works for you!

I check in here every Friday, but my fitness week is Monday – Sunday. So my check-ins are always about a week behind.

Last Week (January 5 – January 11, 2026):

A stage with a theater Playbill of The Sound of MusicThe week started with an early trip to Boston for a follow up doctor’s appointment for my daughter. On Tuesday, I had a brain MRI and EEG has follow up from my dizzy spells (earlier in the fall). The doctor told me that my brain is unremarkable, which means it’s all good. And since I’ve not had the spells in over a month, hopefully I’m a-okay. Thursday, my daughter and I went to a late breakfast with our friend. I got a mani-pedi on Saturday. Sunday was a trip to Boston to see The Sound of Music. It was AMAZING! The leads had incredible voices. My girlfriend and I dropped my daughter off with her friend to hang out while we were at the show, then the four of us went out to dinner. The night, we watched the Patriots win their first playoff game (in seven years I think the announcers said).

Weight: I was up 0.6 pounds from last week.

Goals: I made my goal of moving for at least 10 minutes every day. One day I only burned 50 calories, but most other days, I moved longer and worked a bit harder. I didn’t consume any alcohol last week, either. Clearly it didn’t convert to weight-loss, but I am building better habits. I also kept up with a daily meditation/devotional time. I am going to keep the same goals for the current/upcoming week.

  • To move with purpose for a minimum of 10 minutes per day.
  • To limit alcohol consumption.
  • To read a daily meditation/devotional.

During 2026 I plan:

  • To be mindful of a healthy relationship with food. I will do this by being thoughtful of my food choices when I grocery shop, work from home, and eat out.
  • To move and be mindful. I will do this by finding ways to integrate movement and options for mental wellbeing into my life. I will set weekly or monthly goals to help me achieve a better fitness balance.
  • To remain an active member of FitReaders and support my fellow members. I will do this by actively participating in the FitReader Facebook Group and continuing to share my journey with my weekly check-in on the blog.
