Welcome to #FitReaders2026!! Felicia and I are excited to co-host this fitness-oriented group. If you have any questions about #FitReaders, you can leave them in the comment section or email me at twimom227(at)gmail(dot)com.

Most of our support is done via our Facebook Group. I post my weekly check-ins on Fridays, as it helps me be accountable. You are welcome to do your own check-in posts, check in below, in the comments, or check in with the Facebook group – whatever works for you!

I check in here every Friday, but my fitness week is Monday – Sunday. So my check-ins are always about a week behind.

Last Week (January 12 – January 18, 2026):

I was finally back to Tai Chi on Monday; however, it will be a couple weeks until I can get back again. On Tuesday, my daughter and I took advantage of the reduced price theater tickets and popcorn and went to see Anaconda. It was very entertaining. Thursday, my husband and I went out to very good meal with some friends that we see 1-2 times a year. We go out every January to celebrate birthdays. Friday was the last night my family was all together before the kids return to school. We had pizza. My son left Saturday mid-morning. We had a couple friends over to hand out before my daughter went back to school. Then on Sunday, I drove her back to her dorm, and made it back just in time to watch the Patriots game. Another exciting win!

Weight: I was up 0.1 pounds from last week.

Goals: I was up in weight, again. I know I need to start reducing my caloric intake, and I will tackle that next month. I’ve been good about getting in my 10+ minutes of movement. I did a variety of things like Tai Chi, outdoor walks, elliptical, and some walking in place. I finished off a 10-day no alcohol challenge. I did limit my alcohol after that, by only having drinks on Thursday when we were out to dinner and Saturday with our friends. I’m going to do another 10-day challenge. I also got in my daily down time. The goals, while not helping me lose weight, are helping me feel a bit more balanced in my life.

  • To move with purpose for a minimum of 10 minutes per day.
  • To limit alcohol consumption.
  • To read a daily meditation/devotional.

During 2026 I plan:

  • To be mindful of a healthy relationship with food. I will do this by being thoughtful of my food choices when I grocery shop, work from home, and eat out.
  • To move and be mindful. I will do this by finding ways to integrate movement and options for mental wellbeing into my life. I will set weekly or monthly goals to help me achieve a better fitness balance.
  • To remain an active member of FitReaders and support my fellow members. I will do this by actively participating in the FitReader Facebook Group and continuing to share my journey with my weekly check-in on the blog.
