Welcome to #FitReaders2026!! Felicia and I are excited to co-host this fitness-oriented group. If you have any questions about #FitReaders, you can leave them in the comment section or email me at twimom227(at)gmail(dot)com.

Most of our support is done via our Facebook Group. I post my weekly check-ins on Fridays, as it helps me be accountable. You are welcome to do your own check-in posts, check in below, in the comments, or check in with the Facebook group – whatever works for you!

I check in here every Friday, but my fitness week is Monday – Sunday. So my check-ins are always about a week behind.

Last Week (February 2 – February 8, 2026):

On Monday, Tai Chi was back on, and I learned one more step in the form. It was a busy day on Tuesday with work and some volunteering with a non-profit that promotes art and creativity. I worked from home Wednesday morning and then my husband and I flew to Chicago for my uncle’s funeral. We were there until Saturday morning. While there were plenty of tears, there were even more laughs. I got to spend quality time with my cousins, most I hadn’t seen in three years, but some a lot more. My dad (it was his older brother who passed) was glad my sister and I were both there. After a couple hour delay due to snow in Boston, we made it home. Sunday was spent catching up and then we went to our neighbor’s to watch the Super Bowl.

Weight: I was up 0.9 pounds from last week. I’m up 1.1 pounds for the year and at my heaviest weight ever.

Goals: I continue to gain weight, but I also didn’t stick with my plan. I did well on Monday and Tuesday. But then we left on Wednesday and I was out of town until Saturday. I didn’t make any time for exercise and I didn’t keep track of my food. It was a lot of family time and eating. Then after we returned on Sunday, I went to the Super Bowl party and ate more. I did get in my 15 minutes of movement four of the days, but it wasn’t enough. I also had a glass of wine four days, which makes me eat more. I was able to keep with my devotionals five of the days.

  • To move with purpose for a minimum of 15 minutes per day.
  • To track food intake for 3 days.
  • To limit alcohol consumption.
  • To read a daily meditation/devotional.

During 2026 I plan:

  • To be mindful of a healthy relationship with food. I will do this by being thoughtful of my food choices when I grocery shop, work from home, and eat out.
  • To move and be mindful. I will do this by finding ways to integrate movement and options for mental wellbeing into my life. I will set weekly or monthly goals to help me achieve a better fitness balance.
  • To remain an active member of FitReaders and support my fellow members. I will do this by actively participating in the FitReader Facebook Group and continuing to share my journey with my weekly check-in on the blog.
