Welcome to #FitReaders2026!! Felicia and I are excited to co-host this fitness-oriented group. If you have any questions about #FitReaders, you can leave them in the comment section or email me at twimom227(at)gmail(dot)com.

Most of our support is done via our Facebook Group. I post my weekly check-ins on Fridays, as it helps me be accountable. You are welcome to do your own check-in posts, check in below, in the comments, or check in with the Facebook group – whatever works for you!

I check in here every Friday, but my fitness week is Monday – Sunday. So my check-ins are always about a week behind.

Last Week (February 9 – February 15, 2026):

I started the week with Tai Chi. I love that I’m slowly progressing and learning more. I worked from home Tuesday and in the office Wednesday. Wednesday morning I had my annual dermatology skin check and had to have three spots on my face “frozen” to remove pre-cancerous cells. That afternoon, I ran a big of-site meeting, and it went well. Thursday was a treat: first I got my hair colored and then that evening I went to see Brandi Carlisle at the Garden in Boston. She’s such an amazing performer. Friday was date night with a few couples. We celebrated an early Valentines. Saturday I drove down to visit my daughter. I took her grocery shopping and then I took her and four friends to the mall for a few hours. We finished the night out to dinner with her roommate’s parents. Sunday was church and then out to dinner with my husband’s siblings. We celebrated the December, January and February birthdays.

Weight: I was down 0.8 pounds from last week. At least it’s moving in the right direction!

Goals: I logged my food six of the seven days last week. I only met my caloric intake goal one of those days, but it’s a start. While I only “moved with purpose” five of the days, I did move enough each day to get exercise minutes and close all three fitness rings each day last week. I was out to dinner four nights, and drank an alcoholic beverage with my meals. I continue to fit in my meditation and devotionals.

  • To move with purpose for a minimum of 15 minutes per day.
  • To track food intake for 3 days.
  • To limit alcohol consumption.
  • To read a daily meditation/devotional.

During 2026 I plan:

  • To be mindful of a healthy relationship with food. I will do this by being thoughtful of my food choices when I grocery shop, work from home, and eat out.
  • To move and be mindful. I will do this by finding ways to integrate movement and options for mental wellbeing into my life. I will set weekly or monthly goals to help me achieve a better fitness balance.
  • To remain an active member of FitReaders and support my fellow members. I will do this by actively participating in the FitReader Facebook Group and continuing to share my journey with my weekly check-in on the blog.
