Welcome to #FitReaders2026!! Felicia and I are excited to co-host this fitness-oriented group. If you have any questions about #FitReaders, you can leave them in the comment section or email me at twimom227(at)gmail(dot)com.
Most of our support is done via our Facebook Group. I post my weekly check-ins on Fridays, as it helps me be accountable. You are welcome to do your own check-in posts, check in below, in the comments, or check in with the Facebook group – whatever works for you!
I check in here every Friday, but my fitness week is Monday – Sunday. So my check-ins are always about a week behind.
Last Week (February 16 – February 22, 2026):

I started the week with Tai Chi. Tuesday was normal work day, but I got a mani/pedi in the evening. Wednesday was in-person workday and Ash Wednesday service at church. Thursday I hopped on my flight from Boston to Daytona to go to the 14th Annual Coastal Magic Convention. This is an annual trip for me. It’s my favorite con for sure. I attend with my book bestie, Liza, and we get to see all of our con friends. I moderated three panels on Friday and one on Saturday. I also helped at the book signing. Another fun edition this year was that one of my IRL friends who moved to the area attended the con on Friday as well. Overall, it was an amazing time. The biggest stressor was the huge blizzard that hit Boston. I had to reschedule my flight twice and in the end, my flight was cancelled. More on that adventure next week!
Weight: I was away on Monday, so no weigh-in this week.
Goals: With my travel, I did not do much to meet my goals. I only tracked food on Monday and Tuesday. I only exercised two days, but I was on my feet a lot at the con, so I did close my fitness rings four days. I ate a lot and consumed alcohol with most of my dinners. My goal was to get back on track next week (Feb 23-28), but as you will read next week… my plans had a major disruption.
- To move with purpose for a minimum of 15 minutes per day.
- To track food intake for 3 days.
- To limit alcohol consumption.
- To read a daily meditation/devotional.
During 2026 I plan:
- To be mindful of a healthy relationship with food. I will do this by being thoughtful of my food choices when I grocery shop, work from home, and eat out.
- To move and be mindful. I will do this by finding ways to integrate movement and options for mental wellbeing into my life. I will set weekly or monthly goals to help me achieve a better fitness balance.
- To remain an active member of FitReaders and support my fellow members. I will do this by actively participating in the FitReader Facebook Group and continuing to share my journey with my weekly check-in on the blog.
