Welcome to #FitReaders2026!! Felicia and I are excited to co-host this fitness-oriented group. If you have any questions about #FitReaders, you can leave them in the comment section or email me at twimom227(at)gmail(dot)com.

Most of our support is done via our Facebook Group. I post my weekly check-ins on Fridays, as it helps me be accountable. You are welcome to do your own check-in posts, check in below, in the comments, or check in with the Facebook group – whatever works for you!

I check in here every Friday, but my fitness week is Monday – Sunday. So my check-ins are always about a week behind.

Last Week (January 26 – February 1, 2026):

My husband was gone most of the work week and missed the big snow storm. Monday was very low-key as the big storm continued to dump on us. We ended up with about two feet of snow. The bulk of my driveway was cleared by a neighbor, but I shoveled a bit each day to clean up and be able to drive out, clear the porch and steps, etc. Wednesday I was in the office and had several meetings. That evening was Bible study. Thursday I got a manicure and drove my neighbor to her doctor’s appointment. My husband returned Friday and we went out for pizza. I spent the whole morning in my PJs reading on Saturday. Sunday was theater in Boston day; we saw Some Like it Hot and went out for Greek food after. I missed the read-along chat, again.

Weight: I was up 0.3 pounds from last week. I’m up 2.3 pounds for the month of January.

Goals: I was up in weight, again. I met my exercise and meditation goals. I had a couple glasses of wine on Saturday and Sunday. I realize that I must track my food to keep myself in check when it comes to snacking and serving sizes. If I don’t have to write it down, it’s easy to have “just a little more.” So starting this week (Feb. 2nd), my goal will be to track food three days per week. Then I’ll gradually increase the number of days/week. I’m also increasing my movement goal to 15 minutes per day. I also need to reach out to my PCP about seeing a dietician.

  • To move with purpose for a minimum of 10 minutes per day.
  • To limit alcohol consumption.
  • To read a daily meditation/devotional.

During 2026 I plan:

  • To be mindful of a healthy relationship with food. I will do this by being thoughtful of my food choices when I grocery shop, work from home, and eat out.
  • To move and be mindful. I will do this by finding ways to integrate movement and options for mental wellbeing into my life. I will set weekly or monthly goals to help me achieve a better fitness balance.
  • To remain an active member of FitReaders and support my fellow members. I will do this by actively participating in the FitReader Facebook Group and continuing to share my journey with my weekly check-in on the blog.
