Welcome to #FitReaders2026!! Felicia and I are excited to co-host this fitness-oriented group. If you have any questions about #FitReaders, you can leave them in the comment section or email me at twimom227(at)gmail(dot)com.

Most of our support is done via our Facebook Group. I post my weekly check-ins on Fridays, as it helps me be accountable. You are welcome to do your own check-in posts, check in below, in the comments, or check in with the Facebook group – whatever works for you!

I check in here every Friday, but my fitness week is Monday – Sunday. So my check-ins are always about a week behind.

Last Week (March 2 – March 8, 2026):

I started the week with Tai Chi, followed by breakfast for lunch with a friend. On Tuesday I finally received my custom orthotics for my feet. I also bought a new pair of sneakers to fit the inserts. Tuesday, our IT company installed new software on my computer, and it prevented me from using the internet (to include accessing my email). I was able to use my personal computer for that, but it ate up a lot of my day. Which continued on Wednesday. It took until nearly the end of Wednesday for IT to get my computer operational again. On Thursday I had an appointment for my arm/elbow which has been experiencing increasing pain for the past several months. I’ve been referred for occupational therapy. Spring break for my kids started on Friday. My daughter came home, but my son is heading to the Bahamas with his college friends. Saturday, my daughter and I and a couple of our friends when to see Zootopia 2 at a theater which is closing after the weekend. Tickets were only $5. Sunday was lovely after the time change because now we have more light in the evening, which is better for walking.

Weight: My weight did not change last week.

Goals: I was on a roll with my exercising, doing something six days last week! I did Tai Chi, I walked, I shoveled snow. With all the movement, I closed my Apple fitness rings on six days. I tracked my food for five days, but I didn’t use the tool to curb my eating. I only had a glass of wine one evening last week. Overall, I did well with effort, but I haven’t made changes to my caloric intake, which is why I need to meet with a nutritionist. My goal is to reach out to my PCP by the end of the month.

  • To move with purpose for a minimum of 15 minutes per day.
  • To track food intake for 3 days.
  • To limit alcohol consumption.
  • To read a daily meditation/devotional.

During 2026 I plan:

  • To be mindful of a healthy relationship with food. I will do this by being thoughtful of my food choices when I grocery shop, work from home, and eat out.
  • To move and be mindful. I will do this by finding ways to integrate movement and options for mental wellbeing into my life. I will set weekly or monthly goals to help me achieve a better fitness balance.
  • To remain an active member of FitReaders and support my fellow members. I will do this by actively participating in the FitReader Facebook Group and continuing to share my journey with my weekly check-in on the blog.
