Welcome to #FitReaders2026!! Felicia and I are excited to co-host this fitness-oriented group. If you have any questions about #FitReaders, you can leave them in the comment section or email me at twimom227(at)gmail(dot)com.
Most of our support is done via our Facebook Group. I post my weekly check-ins on Fridays, as it helps me be accountable. You are welcome to do your own check-in posts, check in below, in the comments, or check in with the Facebook group – whatever works for you!
I check in here every Friday, but my fitness week is Monday – Sunday. So my check-ins are always about a week behind.
Last Week (March 9 – March 15, 2026):

As I mentioned last week, my daughter was on her college spring break. On Monday, she had an early check up with her doctor in Boston. Since it was such a lovely day (60F), we walked over to the Museum of Fine Arts. She treated be as a belated birthday gift. After the museum, we met up with our friend for lunch. I had a car service appointment on Tuesday and worked from their waiting room for a couple hours. It was another unseasonably warm day, so I also sat outside for a bit. On Wednesday, I went to another occupational therapy appointment for my elbow and shoulder. I’ve found that doing the exercises has already started to help some. I went out to dinner with some work friends on Thursday. On Friday, my daughter and I had dinner with cousins. Saturday was her last full day at home and she did homework until our friends came over for dinner. On Sunday I took my daughter back to her dorm, my daughter’s friend to her apartment in Boston, and dropped my friend (her mom) at the airport. It was a fun adventure in the car.
Weight: My weight was up 0.7 pounds last week.
Goals: I didn’t get to Tai Chi last week because of my daughter’s doctor appointment, but I did walk over 11,000 steps in Boston. I also walked on Tuesday and Wednesday, but then I didn’t do any additional exercise last week. So technically, I only exercised two days last week. I tracked food three days, which really isn’t enough, so I need to try for 4 or 5 days next week. I plan to call my doctor about my weight gain next week, too.
- To move with purpose for a minimum of 20 minutes per day.
- To track food intake for 3 days.
- To limit alcohol consumption.
- To read a daily meditation/devotional.
During 2026 I plan:
- To be mindful of a healthy relationship with food. I will do this by being thoughtful of my food choices when I grocery shop, work from home, and eat out.
- To move and be mindful. I will do this by finding ways to integrate movement and options for mental wellbeing into my life. I will set weekly or monthly goals to help me achieve a better fitness balance.
- To remain an active member of FitReaders and support my fellow members. I will do this by actively participating in the FitReader Facebook Group and continuing to share my journey with my weekly check-in on the blog.
