April 7th: Do you like spoilers? Do you read the last chapter first? Share your thoughts.
No! I don’t like opening my Christmas presents early, I generally don’t read book blurbs, and I didn’t find out the sex of my children before they were born. I don’t usually like spoilers. I think the few times I’ve looked up spoilers in a book/movie were times I was emotionally vulnerable and needed to make sure things would “be okay.” For example, while I was reading The Martian by Andy Weir, my dad had a massive heart attack. I was keenly aware of life’s fragility, and I knew that if the MC didn’t make it, I would hurt deeply. So I asked a friend who’d already read it to let me know if he makes it or not.
