Welcome to #FitReaders2026!! Felicia and I are excited to co-host this fitness-oriented group. If you have any questions about #FitReaders, you can leave them in the comment section or email me at twimom227(at)gmail(dot)com.

Most of our support is done via our Facebook Group. I post my weekly check-ins on Fridays, as it helps me be accountable. You are welcome to do your own check-in posts, check in below, in the comments, or check in with the Facebook group – whatever works for you!

I check in here every Friday, but my fitness week is Monday – Sunday. So my check-ins are always about a week behind.

Last Week (April 27 – May 3, 2026):

On Monday, my husband and I drove back from my son’s college / confirmation. I didn’t make it home in time for Tai Chi, but I did get home in time for a massage! I continued with OT for my shoulders and elbows, which were causing me grief last week. On Thursday I had my car serviced only to find out that it needs a lot more work done, which wasn’t in the budget. I’ve scheduled a follow up for service this week. On Friday, I went for a great walk with a friend. I hope to get in more walks now that the weather is getting nicer. I used Saturday to catch up on house work, bills, blogging stuff, etc. from my trips. On Sunday, I was honored to receive a volunteer award at our church. That afternoon, we drove to my daughter’s college for her spring dance recital.

My Health: I received the referral for a dietitian/nutritionist and have an appointment set up for next week. (By the time this posts, I will have met with her.)

Weight: I did not gain or lose weight last week, and I was up 0.6 pounds for the month of April.

Goals: I only exercised twice last week, both outdoor walks. I tracked my food for five days, and of those days, my carbs and sugars were high on one day. I will assume that on the two days I didn’t track, they were also high. I only had two alcoholic beverages last week. I got out of the habit for my daily devotional while I was traveling and struggled to fit it back in last week. I realize I missed it and need to prioritize my mental health!

My goals for the week:

  • To move with purpose for a minimum of 20 minutes for 4 days during the week.
  • To track food intake to include carbs, sugars, and proteins every day.
  • To limit alcohol consumption.
  • To read a daily meditation/devotional.

During 2026 I plan:

  • To be mindful of a healthy relationship with food. I will do this by being thoughtful of my food choices when I grocery shop, work from home, and eat out.
  • To move and be mindful. I will do this by finding ways to integrate movement and options for mental wellbeing into my life. I will set weekly or monthly goals to help me achieve a better fitness balance.
  • To remain an active member of FitReaders and support my fellow members. I will do this by actively participating in the FitReader Facebook Group and continuing to share my journey with my weekly check-in on the blog.
