Welcome to #FitReaders2026!! Felicia and I are excited to co-host this fitness-oriented group. If you have any questions about #FitReaders, you can leave them in the comment section or email me at twimom227(at)gmail(dot)com.

Most of our support is done via our Facebook Group. I post my weekly check-ins on Fridays, as it helps me be accountable. You are welcome to do your own check-in posts, check in below, in the comments, or check in with the Facebook group – whatever works for you!

I check in here every Friday, but my fitness week is Monday – Sunday. So my check-ins are always about a week behind.

Last Week (July 20 – July 26, 2026):

Thursday I took my daughter to Boston so she could job shadow at a lab. I had the chance to visit a friend who is in the hospital down there. On Friday afternoon, we spent a couple hours at the beach. Saturday was a beautiful day spent at my brother and sister-in-law’s home in Maine. We sat outside and admired their new landscaping while enjoying a summer cookout. We also got to give love to their two cats. I went to the beach church service on Sunday morning. That afternoon I participated in the Read-Along Chat and then we went out for dinner to celebrate a neighbor’s birthday.

My Health:

photo of a catWhile it was a small thing, my macros moved in the right direction ever so slightly. However, my calories were up, primarily because of two days. During the week, I honestly thought I was doing better. And while Saturday was happening, I felt like I was making good choices given the circumstances. It just goes to show that each day isn’t an isolated event. Good news: I was down 0.1 pounds for the week, but at one point mid-week, I was down 1.5 pounds. I walked four days, which is less than the week prior. Overall, it was a decent week, but I thought I had done better. I will continue to work on keeping the calories in check, especially on the days I’m not eating out. I snuck in ice cream on a couple days, which pushed the calories above 1,600.

My goal for the coming week: continue to focus on staying near 1,600 calories on the days I’m home and try to plan ahead/stick with the plan for days I’m away from home.

My daily averages for last week:

Calories: 2,071 (goal 1,600); Carbs: 187.1g (goal under 115g); Fiber: 20.9g (goal over 22g);  Protein: 87.4g (goal 80g)

Weight: I lost 0.1 pounds last week.

My goals for this week:

  • To move with purpose for a minimum of 20 minutes for 5 days during the week.
  • To track food intake to include carbs, sugars, and proteins every day.
  • To limit alcohol consumption.
  • To read a daily meditation/devotional.

During 2026 I plan:

  • To be mindful of a healthy relationship with food. I will do this by being thoughtful of my food choices when I grocery shop, work from home, and eat out.
  • To move and be mindful. I will do this by finding ways to integrate movement and options for mental wellbeing into my life. I will set weekly or monthly goals to help me achieve a better fitness balance.
  • To remain an active member of FitReaders and support my fellow members. I will do this by actively participating in the FitReader Facebook Group and continuing to share my journey with my weekly check-in on the blog.
