Welcome to #FitReaders2026!! Felicia and I are excited to co-host this fitness-oriented group. If you have any questions about #FitReaders, you can leave them in the comment section or email me at twimom227(at)gmail(dot)com.

Most of our support is done via our Facebook Group. I post my weekly check-ins on Fridays, as it helps me be accountable. You are welcome to do your own check-in posts, check in below, in the comments, or check in with the Facebook group – whatever works for you!

I check in here every Friday, but my fitness week is Monday – Sunday. So my check-ins are always about a week behind.

Last Week (August 10 – August 16, 2026):

It was another week with both some nice slow days and some busy fun days. I helped make decorations for a local adult queer prom on Tuesday. On Thursday, my daughter and I visited friends in Boston. We went to the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum and out to dinner. We hung out after and ate ice cream. It was a fun day filled with good weather and lots of food. Friday afternoon I went to the beach with a friend from work. On Saturday, we went to see the movie The End of Oak Street. We were very entertained. On Sunday, I did chores around the house after church.

My Health:

Another good week! I am feeling more confident about my choices and ability to bounce back after a “not so great” day. (No using the word “bad”!!) I lost 1.5 pounds last week, bringing my total to over 11 pounds since I started my program with my dietician. That is an average of about 3/4 pound per week and over 3 pounds per month. I got in 6 days of workouts last week, but only one yoga. So this coming week, I will try to get in two yoga workouts.

My daily averages for last week:

Calories: 1,874 (goal 1,600); Carbs: 186.3g (goal under 115g); Fiber: 24.4g (goal over 22g);  Protein: 77.7g (goal 80g)

Weight: I lost 1.5 pounds last week.

My goals for this week:

  • To move with purpose for a minimum of 20 minutes for 5 days during the week.
  • To track food intake to include carbs, sugars, and proteins every day.
  • To limit alcohol consumption.
  • To read a daily meditation/devotional.

During 2026 I plan:

  • To be mindful of a healthy relationship with food. I will do this by being thoughtful of my food choices when I grocery shop, work from home, and eat out.
  • To move and be mindful. I will do this by finding ways to integrate movement and options for mental wellbeing into my life. I will set weekly or monthly goals to help me achieve a better fitness balance.
  • To remain an active member of FitReaders and support my fellow members. I will do this by actively participating in the FitReader Facebook Group and continuing to share my journey with my weekly check-in on the blog.
