Welcome to #FitReaders2026!! Felicia and I are excited to co-host this fitness-oriented group. If you have any questions about #FitReaders, you can leave them in the comment section or email me at twimom227(at)gmail(dot)com.

Most of our support is done via our Facebook Group. I post my weekly check-ins on Fridays, as it helps me be accountable. You are welcome to do your own check-in posts, check in below, in the comments, or check in with the Facebook group – whatever works for you!

I check in here every Friday, but my fitness week is Monday – Sunday. So my check-ins are always about a week behind.

Last Week (September 21 – September 27, 2026):

Coco in her carrier before going to the vet.

My husband was gone all week, traveling to India and Kuala Lumpur for work. It was just me and the cats all week. As I mentioned in my post last week, I started my week off with a breast ultrasound (details HERE). Since my husband was gone, my friend came with me. We also went out for lunch. I went to a conference on housing and the economy in Concord on Wednesday. My cat, Coco, had a vet follow up on Thursday. The treatment for her feline asthma is working and she’s doing great. We had a big nor’ easter storm hit Saturday. I spent the day inside. I did several chores and put up all of the fall decor. My friends came over for dinner and we watched Love Hypothesis on Prime. I spent Sunday afternoon at the neighbors for the Pats game. We had chili and caught up with everyone.

My Health:

My numbers were a bit elevated last week, primarily to the consumption of seasonal (pumpkin!) beer and desserts I purchased to weather through the stormy weekend. Also, my exercise levels were down. While I did manage two yoga sessions and one tai chi last week, I barely did any walking so my active calorie count was also lower than usual. Altogether that resulting in no change in my weight. I’m good with that, as long as I stay the course with the changes I’ve made so far.

In many ways, I feel like I’m in a maintenance phase of my journey. I’ve made several small changes to my diet and lifestyle that have resulted in a lower A1C and weight loss. I’m not actively trying to hit a specific number or even necessarily lose more weight; however, I am continuing with my plan as is.

My daily averages for last week:

Calories: 1,825 (goal 1,800); Carbs: 194g (goal under 140g); Fiber: 23.7g (goal over 22g);  Protein: 76.1g (goal 80g)

Weight: My weight did not change last week. I was down 2.8 pounds during September.

During 2026 I plan:

  • To be mindful of a healthy relationship with food. I will do this by being thoughtful of my food choices when I grocery shop, work from home, and eat out.
  • To move and be mindful. I will do this by finding ways to integrate movement and options for mental wellbeing into my life. I will set weekly or monthly goals to help me achieve a better fitness balance.
  • To remain an active member of FitReaders and support my fellow members. I will do this by actively participating in the FitReader Facebook Group and continuing to share my journey with my weekly check-in on the blog.
