Audiobook review: The Briar Club by Kate Quinn The Briar Club shares the story of multiple residents of the Briarwood House, a female boarding home located in the Foggy Bottom neighborhood of Washington D.C. The story starts with the news of a murder on Thanksgiving Day in 1954, and then goes back in time between […]
Audiobook Review: Betrayal in Death by J.D. Robb Betrayal in Death is the twelfth book in the series and still has me wanting more. It wouldn’t be a murder case without it being connected to Roarke in some way. Instead of six degrees of Kevin Bacon, the In Death series is six degrees of Roarke. If […]
Audiobook Review: Judgement in Death by J.D. Robb Judgement in Death has Lieutenant Eve Dallas working a murder case where cops are getting killed. The first body is found in a classy strip joint owned by no other than Roarke (he really is richer than god; he owns all the property it seems). But unlike other […]
Audiobook Review: Witness in Death by J.D. Robb Only Eve and Roarke can attend a play where a murder takes place making them witnesses to a real-life who did it. Witness in Death puts the couple in the middle of things while they try to figure out who switched the stage knife for a real knife. […]
In the Garden of Spite Author: Camilla Bruce Reviewer: Jennifer Rating: C What I’m Talking About: I believe In the Garden of Spite is a standalone, and it’s very different than my usual read. It’s more like something I would watch since I’m not big on reading historical fiction, but the promise of a female serial […]
Audiobook Review: Loyalty in Death by J.D. Robb Loyalty in Death hit close to home when you take in the fact it was released roughly two years before the 9/11 attack. Eve finds herself dealing with a terrorist group called “Cassandra” who are targeting New York and government landmarks. Some attacks are eerily close to history […]
Audiobook Review: Conspiracy in Death by J.D. Robb The gang is all present for another murder case. “Hold it. Hold it.” Her drumming fingers curled into fists. “Roarke? Damn it, damn it, damn it, can’t he stay out of anything?” Never fails when Eve is researching a case she finds a link to Roarke no matter […]
Holiday in Death Author: J.D. Robb Reviewer: Jennifer Rating: A What I’m Talking About: I’m now seven books deep into the In Death series by J.D. Robb and I can’t wait to keep going. Holiday in Death brings holiday cheer in the form of a serial killer masquerading as Santa to get entry into his victims’ homes. […]
Audiobook Review: Vengeance in Death by J.D. Robb Just when I thought Roake was never going to be connected to a murder case again. Vengeance in Death brings a case of murders where the victims have a connection to the torture and murder of Summerset’s daughter back in Ireland years ago before he and Roake […]
Audiobook Review: Rapture in Death by J.D. Robb Rapture in Death made me smile so much. Eve and Roarke are back from their honeymoon and they are freaking adorable together. Their ever-growing relationship is fun to witness, they laugh together, they tear each other clothes off and they work great together. Peabody is quickly becoming a […]
Audiobook Review: Naked in Death by J.D. Robb I have had the In Death series on my audio TBR pile for YEARS. Once I saw Under the Covers co-hosting a read along for the series, I knew it was time to finally start it. The 50th (!) book was released this year. That’s a lot of […]
